Champagne

Established in 1785, Piper Heidsieck is a top Champagne brand, having been awarded 90pts by Wine Spectator magazine and a Gold Medal at Mondial de Bruxelles. The blend is mainly Pinot Noir, with small amounts of Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay added for complexity. The second fermentation (to create the bubbles) lasted 21 months, developing the right amount of toastiness and elegance. Aromas and flavours of citrus, pear, and Granny Smith apples, with slight spicy notes on the lively finish. As an aperitif on its own, or paired with appetizers.

The ultimate celebration bubbly named after a young Benedictine monk who, in 17th century France, made many important contributions to the production and quality of champagne. Cava

Cava is made the same way as champagne – with just as many bubbles – but using indigenous Spanish grapes instead of the traditional champagne grapes. Rich, toasty citrus aromas and flavours, very dry, medium-bodied, and refreshing. A great aperitif wine, or with appetizers or medium-bodied dishes like seafood.

Created in 1979, Kripta was described by Michel Bettane, an influential French wine critic, as “a sparkling wine comparable to the very best Champagnes”. Prosecco

Full-sparkling – Spumante – made from the Prosecco grape. Just a touch of sweetness on the palate but essentially dry. Aromas and flavours of pear and citrus with bright mineral notes. A great way to begin a meal, or paired with appetizers and lighter-style dishes.
